First of all, check if your blood pressure is normal. If it is high, you’ll probably have no symptoms, so it’s better to check it up each year. Chronic high blood pressure damage arteries, so they become narrower and cannot give sufficient amount of blood to the heart. This leads to a heart disease.
If you are a heavy smoker, try to quit. Today there exist a lot of programs that help stop smoking. Also ask your doctor to advise you some pills or gums.
Test your cholesterol levels. Cholesterol is a kind of waxy pieces of fat in your body. Cholesterol can create clogs in the arteries and so the heart can be left without the adequate amount of blood. This can lead to a heart attack. In such cases the symptoms are absent, so you have to check it from time to time. Don’t forget to consult your doctor in case you’ve got a high level of cholesterol. It is possible to lower your cholesterol level, if you would eat healthy food and move a lot.
Take time to check for diabetes. People with diabetes always have high blood sugar. Diabetes increases your chances to gain a heart disease greatly. If you unlucky to have diabetes, consult your doctor concerning diabetes pills and insulin, ask advice about your ration and a program of exercises.
Watch over your weight. Your excess weight increases your risk to have a heart disease. You should know your Body Mass Index to see if you are not overweight. Balanced feeding and physical exercises are also significant, they help not to gain weight and stay healthy. To get better results, eat more fruit, vegetables. Add some grains to your menu.
Physical activity is a wonderful remedy against excess weight and risk of heart diseases. Try to get at least two hours and a half of not very difficult physical exercises, about one hour of more energetic physical exercises. Try to walk on the fresh air a lot.
Do not drink much alcohol, restrict yourself to one drink a day and not more.
And finally, find some ways to cope with stress situations: talk to your friends, think about what you like, do some exercises, or write a diary.
